My name is Toni McConaghie and I was born during a harsh blizzard in January of 1995. I was raised in McClure’s Gap, Pennsylvania, until my parents and I had to pick up and move to El Paso, Texas in 1999 to help our family in various ways. I have lived on the edge of poverty for the majority of my life, which I believe has given me a stronger appreciation for the more important things in life. I found that I had a passion for art at a very young age, but did not begin to truly nurture it until middle school. As I improved, many have helped me along the way, telling me I had much talent and that I need not let it go to waste. I didn’t believe them at first, but when my high school gave me the opportunity to go to a part time technical college, I took that chance to learn more about art. I chose to learn graphic design, as that seemed like a practical way to use my artistic abilities to build a stable and creative career. For the past few years, I have been honing my abilities in various mediums of art and branching out to others, gaining exposure. I work as a freelance graphic designer and artist, and always try to fit my art to my clients’ vision and needs. I plan to pursue graphic design as a serious career, starting with going to university when I am able.
