I am a 21-year-old freelance artist with work experience as a graphic designer for a publishing company in Leicestershire, England. My interests include (though are not limited to) comic book illustration/writing, Renaissance & Impressionist-era painting, sci-fi art & literature, symbolism in art, political cartoons and satirical work, among a multitude of other areas. I am a gifted draftsman and painter, and have practiced both disciplines all my life. I have also branched into digital artwork recently, using Photoshop and Illustrator to create flyers, business cards and the like, and in my spare time rendering imaginary landscapes. I am currently studying Philosophy at the University of Liverpool, England, and many of my creative efforts are ideologically-charged by my academic studies. My ambition is to work full-time in the comics/graphic novel industry, and every day I try to hone my inking, pencilling and layout skills further. I also continue to develop new ideas for storylines and characters, and my own personal visual-style. Additionally, I often take commissions to do paintings, portraits, tattoo designs, etc. but I love challenges, and often find that I work best outside of my comfort-zone, so whatever you are looking for, don't be afraid to ask! I have some work online at: james-coutts.deviantart.com here you will find examples of my paintings, life drawings, character design and digital paintings. It needs updating, but if you have any queries or would like to see examples of anything specific, please do not hesitate to inquire. I am a diligent, professional individual, who will meet deadlines and endeavor to ensure my client's expectations are not just met but surpassed. Thanks, James.

"Eagle-eyed" is an apt phrase for Kia & her editorial skills. Kiakiali is a Native American word meaning "eagle," and Kia exhibits her namesake animal's keen sight capturing typos and grammar mishaps, like the small rodents they are, and also utilizing her sharp vision to comprehend the concepts and direction of your writing with one quick read. After a stint as the editor & reporter for WORDsd.com, where she interviewed renowned local author David Brin, among many noteables, Kia worked as an editor for an online publishing company, copy-edited the website & all materials for a San Diego based tutoring business & has been a free-lance editor for more years than she cares to admit. Kiakiali has over 2 decades of editorial experience in every genre of fiction to many in non-fiction. Since 1995, Kia has been facilitating writers' groups, read & critiques and providing many other services to writers in the Los Angeles area, Northern Virginia and currently in San Diego's North County. Kia is affiliated with various writing communities throughout San Diego County, such as A Word With You Press & its Club House in Oceanside & PWSD & Writer's Ink, as well as many smaller local groups of writers. She reads at open mics at the Club House, E-Street Cafe & Ducky Waddles, has participated in the Full Moon Poet's Slam at the La Paloma and attends various other read & critiques. Kia has served as a judge for the San Diego Book Awards and books she edited have been nominated, as well. Kia facilitates a writers' group in Encinitas and a Healing Through Writing workshop in Carlsbad. Currently she is accepting participants for both an Artist's Way and Walking in This World workshop. She has limited openings for private editorial clients. Most recently, she won first place in A Word With You Press' "One Tight Write" Contest with a write off entry summing up a life in 50 words.
