I have been working as an Illustrator both Freelance and at an Agency and have 10 years of experience doing so. I have had a passion for Art since I was young. At the age of 10 one of my paintings was presented to the Japanese Royal Family after I won a national competition put on by the Japan Animal Welfare Society. I earned a B.F.A. degree from Musashino Art University and since then have held several solo exhibitions at art galleries in Japan and participated in several group exhibitions as well. My works at these exhibitions included traditional Japanese paintings, video installations, projection mappings and mixed media works. I specialized in Live Painting events for several years, producing large scale works in public venues in real-time in front of a live audience. This experience honed my ability to work quickly and under considerable pressure and you can see examples of these live works at pico-creations.com My years of experience at ORANGEWORKS, a Japanese agency, gave me much experience in delivering a variety of illustration products for a wide range of clients. I illustrated posters for Tokyo Metro that were displayed in subway trains and stations throughout Tokyo working closely with producers and the client to iterate quickly to a successful solution. For other clients I produced advertising collateral, large-scale illustrations used to wrap the outside of retail stores and even designed a bear mascot character for a large residential apartment company that has been used in books, print ads and even turned into a stuffed toy. For all of these projects I had to work quickly to meet deadlines, take input when given and use my creativity when guidance was sparse. I would be thrilled to work with international clients and provide our creation in the world.
