Born and raised in Colombia and currently living in Toronto, Carlos Delgado is an artist, muralist and live painter who has been nominated as the only painter for TELUS and Toronto Arts Foundation's Newcomer Artist Award in 2014 and in 2015 was nominated for “10 top Hispanics in Canada” by Canadian Hispanic Business Association
Carlos is a diverse artist both in styles and medium. His art explores the human nature and its relationship to its environment both in human expression of self, stories and experiences as well the the emotional experience of the natural world. His styles of paintings mix traditional realism with abstract expression and range from bright bold colours to a play with darkness and light. For his 2013 solo show Carlos was awarded a certificate of recognition by Toronto Liberal MP of Multiculturalism for his commitment to promoting the diversity and multiculturalism of Toronto.
Carlos’s lively and engaging style has put him at the forefront of the live painting scene working for clients such as, Pan Am, CIBC, FIFA, City of Toronto, L'Oreal, Rogers and more. His live painting engages and inspires audiences in being part of the creative process and his given him various winning titles in several different live painting competitions.
As a muralist and public artist, Carlos believes that art can act as a tool to reflect the world around us while simultaneously being part of it. He creates murals which bring beauty and vibrancy while allowing the viewer to create a sense of personal connection with the artwork and the space in which it is painted. He has been commissioned for murals by clients such as Labatt's Canada, Olive Media and more, and has extensive public art murals in Colombia and Canada with the most recent public art commission for Pan Am Path in Toronto.
Going beyond creating art, Carlos is deeply committed to using art as a tool for social improvement and as such has worked with various youth servicing organizations facilitating sneaker art workshops while also creating various events and art parties to raise money for various charitable organizations across the world.
