President, CEO
PMS Microdesign, Inc.
1988 – present
Responsible for leading the company’s pioneering work in the field of multimedia technology. Created one of the first digital audio processors that is now the basis for all digital sound. Pioneered the development of current browser technology by creating a system incorporating an HTML type language with an external sound and environmental controller. Pioneered methods of advancing interaction beyond the keyboard and mouse into the physical world by creating a Nerf® sensing screen that determined where and how hard a Nerf® ball strikes the video screen, a commercial artificial reality product incorporating a large eight-foot floor pad and a video screen, a rotating monitor for navigating a virtual world like a periscope and a camera gesture system for controlling interactive environments by pointing. Worked to advance the field of virtual reality by creating one of the first virtual reality simulations of Schizophrenia that appeared on ABC New 20/20 and a Web based virtual reality development tool for kids called KidsVR™. Developing an authoring and playback game design platform requiring no technical knowledge for building games that generate and redeem points for iOS, Android, Web, Macintosh, Windows. Building on the past successes I am currently developing new technologies for the mobile market, including smartphones and tablets.
