PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS
University of Alberta: 4 Years 2006-2010
Facility Planner, Programmer and Interior Designer, Office of the University Architect. Responsible for facilitation and consultation with a number of University’s, Faculties and support departments with respect to facilities programming and planning exercises. This included planning and programming space needs, producing space/office/furniture layouts, conducting and/or overseeing interior design preparation of RFP packages for hiring programming and design consultants, managing campus design elements (signage and universal access), engaging university stakeholders in visioning sessions, business cases and developing scope of work and budgets for renovation projects.

Principal of my own Interior Design and Fibre Art studio where I worked on residential and commercial design projects and fibre art commissions; first in Edmonton, then in Saskatoon
Alberta Housing and Public Works: 6 Years
Started as a Junior Designer rising to the position of Acting Director
Developed operational procedures and protocol for a large Provincial Government Office
Supervised 13 Interior Designers and their consultants for a large Provincial Government office
Designed five International projects - London, England; Hong Kong, China; Tokyo, Japan; Project Managed three of them.

2005 Recipient of City of Saskatoon Heritage Award for restoration of 716 Queen Street; an Arts and Crafts residence which became the office of D. Black Communications.
2005 Finalist, Design Council of Saskatchewan (DCS) Premier’s Awards of Excellence in Design.
2001 Grant recipient for studio equipment from Saskatchewan Craft Council & organization of Cultural Industries (SCC/OCC).
1992 1st Prize winner, Texuba International Design Contest in Venice California.
1989 CARFAC (Canadian artists Representation of Saskatchewan) cash award for logo competition for a venue with the Jeux Canada Games in Saskatoon.

2000 Brenda Baker, children’s performer – Saskatoon. Provided costume for children’s performer Brenda Baker.
2000 IDAS Auction 2000 Coordinator, Mendel Art Gallery, Saskatoon.
1999 Riversdale Business Improvement District – Saskatoon. Designed and fabricated a paper-mâché & nylon dragon for the First annual Chinese New Year’s parade.
1996 Fundraising Co-Chair, Saskatoon Elementary school band trip to Red Deer, Alberta.
1995 Coordinator of SCC (Saskatoon Craft Counsel) plate decorating fundraiser.
1993 Conceived and developed craft displays at Saskatoon shopping mall for the year of the craft, as designated by the United Nations.
