I am a graphic designer with over 10 years of experience, the bulk of which is in a corporate environment with the creative arm of an advertising/marketing team. I was responsible for conceptualization, layout and design for multiple full-scale marketing campaigns on tight schedules. Additionally, I was solely responsible for the development, layout, launch and monthly design of the Cherokee Casino Magazine. The magazine was very successful and became the flagship marketing tool for the Cherokee Casino. I was later promoted to a position where I was contracted to focus exclusively on the production of the magazine.
In 2008, I became a co-owner of YellowCake Designs in Brooklyn, NY. YellowCake was an eclectic apparel company that produced handmade screen print designs. Each design was crafted by our team and created exclusively by me. We personalized the look of each piece and individually hand printed each fashion item. We sold our designs in Greenwich Village, Washington Square Park, Soho, etc. The brand was very successful and grew into an online business. We were garnering attention around New York and were in discussions with projects for national brands.
Since then, I have worked as a freelance designer with many different clients on a variety of projects. Some of these include brand identity, production ad work, web design, illustration, screen printing and full scale art projects. Working as a freelance designer has enhanced my abilities to be a self motivator and a good communicator with a sense of urgency for meeting deadlines. I understand the importance of balancing the workload in a fast paced environment, while maintaining a critical eye for detail.
