Come mid-April, I will be finished my BA/BEd (Honours English) degree from Nipissing University, where I am enrolled in the Concurrent Education (Primary/Junior) program. I have been writing for more than 10 years, both creative personal work and academic studies and reports.

Project Coordinator, Whitewater Library Board, Beachburg, ON May - August, 2007
I worked with the Library Board to coordinate a story time for children and the three libraries in the district. Each week I would create a different theme, select books to read to the children, and then created a craft for them to complete or game to play. I was also required to keep track of how many children came each week, and their approximate ages, as well as manage their behaviour during the story time.

Areas of Study: classic and children’s literature, native literature, religion, psychology, media studies, and education
Throughout my years of study, I have completed 16 weeks of teaching placement in 6 different classrooms, as well as 3 weeks of service learning placement, done in a daycare centre. During these placements, I planned and directed lessons in all subjects areas of the elementary school system, managed class sizes of 20-30 students, organized time and materials, and coordinated with other teachers and staff members.
