I love to paint in a variety of styles and media. As well as working on my own fine art paintings I really enjoy taking on projects and comissions and the challenge of tapping into exactly what the client is after and doing my best to give that to them.
My background is in the custom handpainting of guitars and other musical instruments. You can see my work at www.inkyhollow.co.uk which has been up and running for 5 years or so. I have done a large amount of comissioned work on guitars for individuals and various companies covering a wide range of subject matter and styles. Running this business has given me a great deal of experience in not only creating a very high quality end product but also in communicating and working with clients to bring to life a particular vision or brief.
I have been able to take the same skills learned in painting guitars into the design of tattoos, from small single images to the odd large sleeve; everything from black line to full colour. The 'style' of artwork I have applied to guitars lends it self perfectly to tattoos.
I have also done various illustrations, paintings and artworks for album covers, music posters, greetings cards, cartoons and books. Usually colourful creatures, cartoons or artwork with a slight pyshcadelic edge aswell as a smaller number of more 'realistic works' and simpler black ink drawings.
My own creative journey has recently taken me into the field of fine art painting. That is more tradtional oil and acrylic paintings. I work in oils and acrylics. Aswell as an ever growing portfolio of work in this area I have had a small but steady line of comissioned work, everything from local scenes and pet portraits through to a project that involved painted 10 different 6ft by 3ft faded angels.
