I studied studio art with a focus in drawing at the University of Louisville, graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts. My mural business really took form when I participated in Louisville's Homearama in 2002. I have shown murals and faux finishing in 15 Homearama homes over 10 shows, which has led to a great deal of residential painting. In that time I have had the opportunity to work with some of Louisville's best builders including Stonecroft Homes, Meridian Construction, and Provident Homes as well some of the area's top designers such as Liz at Home and Lisa Lynn Design. In recent years, my workload has shifted into commercial areas. I paint regularly for Shiraz Mediterranean Grill, painting new restaurants as they open, updating older locations, and working on their menus as needed. I have worked as a freelance illustrator for Leapfrog Interactive as well as painting murals and decorative finishes in their offices in Louisville. Other commercial clients have included The Weber Group, Lamkin Wealth Management, St Stephen Church, Century Entertainment & Furnishings, The Pub (Louisville), and the Jefferson County Public School System. In additon to painting, I worked as a drawing instructor at Artopia from 2000 until their closing in 2004. Of course, I wouldn't be painting at all without the support of my wife who can tell me when my paintings need work, but loves to tell me when they are great. I also have two wonderful children. I am looking forward to the day when they are old enough to carry in all the paint from the car and maybe mix a color or two.
