During the past 15 years, I have captured humans, animals and landscapes with paint and pencil and a sensitivity for the subject, whether the finished product is impressionistic or realistic. I work in pastels, charcoal, oil and acrylic paint, and with Adobe Photoshop.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas in 1994, and worked at The Nogales International Newspaper and then as a Marketing Manager at Ciruli Bros/Champagne Mango. Here, in these settings and others, I cultivated my writing, which spans from dynamic speeches to press releases and compelling advertising copy. I can write concise and professional business documents as well as blog posts. As I built my career, I burned the midnight oil and started painting. Starting with murals and painted furniture, and continuing with fine art.
I have worked earnestly to complete large and small murals--always with enthusiasm from my clients. All of the aforementioned experiences are are melding for me to create cartoons, books and more. I'm currently obtaining a Masters in Fine Art (Illustration) from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, which polishes my work and gives it more substance and dimension.
