I am now a freelancer again, after having just completed my stint as an associate editor of Freedom, a monthly magazine. In addition to the expected duties of that job, I have written everything from news briefs to investigative cover stories about corruption, malfeasance and mismanagement. Formerly, I was the city editor of The News-Review, a newspaper that publishes six days a week in Roseburg, Oregon. Previously, I was the editor of a five-days-a-week newspaper in Trinidad, Colorado called The Chronicle-News. And prior to that gig, I was a freelance writer/photographer for 27 years, and my stories and/or photos have been published in dozens of publications, including the Robb Report, Travel+Leisure Golf, the L.A. Weekly, National Parks, Highways, the magazine created by Hugh Hefner that is, bizarrely, being banned from this list by a puritanical filter, Fish Alaska, Trailer Life and Coast to Coast.
Twelve of my eBooks have been published: Six books of fiction and six of non-fiction, three of which have become Amazon No. 1 Bestsellers. All 12 books are available on Amazon.com. My latest is National Parks Camping & RVing, which is available for the low, low price of $1.99, and you likely spent more than that on your morning beverage, and this book runs more than 200 pages and is so teeming with salient facts ... never mind.
I wrote a column about national parks and an outdoors adventure column for years. Songs I have written have been performed in both the United States and Canada, and I am working on a novel. I have had a successful solo show of paintings and photos in Santa Monica, CA. My paintings have been shown in galleries in Los Angeles, Ojai, California and Raton, New Mexico. Currently two galleries on Main Street in Trinidad, Colorado are displaying my work. All of the works in this portfolio are for sale, though not necessarily for the low, low price of $1.99.
