I have taught in many diverse environments. I have used my French language and culture skills to serve many different organizations. I attended Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota, where there is a strong emphasis of cultural understanding and engagement with the world through education, I strive to provide my services to bridge cultures through language and cultural exchange, primarily through my translations and education. Most recently I have been translating for a variety of people and organizations in both French and English, in several media types.
August 2010- Present Saint Francis of Assisi Elementary School.
French Teacher. I currently teach French in a FLES Foreign Language Elementary School program. I teach students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. I teach with a variety of techniques, including games, song and dance. I present all aspects of language, from grammar; reading writing and speaking to cultures.

Substitute Teacher. I taught mostly at a high school level, the majority of the time in the ELL (English Language Learners), and World Language classrooms.
June-September 2009 Canoe Island French Camp Orcas, Washington
Art director/Camp counselor. I created lessons and activities that incorporated fun art projects with French vocabulary and culture. In addition I was personally responsible for a group of 4girls, at a time helping with daily routines. Canoe Island hosts boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 16. I also taught a French class six days a week.

B.A. French Education
I completed the Teacher Education program and a complete French Major. I am qualified to teach kindergarten through 12th grade. I also completed a Political Science minor.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES/ WORK
For the last 3 years I have been tutoring students on French conversation , culture and grammar, outside of my school environment, via Skype, largely. I have been translating documents of various types, from film scripts, to educational brochures; all intended for international audiences. I have translated documents both from French to English as well as English to French.
I am fluent in French, with an OPI score of Intermediate-mid, on the ACTFL scale. I studied abroad in France for three months, in 2006, studying culture and staying with a host family in Rennes.
Concordia Language Villages-Lac du Bois September 2004-May 2005
I taught at the French Concordia Language Village. I spoke French with the kids around the clock during weekend programs for schools. All the daily routines are conducted completely in French. Lac du Bois is a complete immersion program that encourages acquisition through constant contact with the language and its culture and history. I believe strongly in learning the language as a whole experience; it is impossible to learn and function in a language simply with book work. I bring that belief directly to my work in the classroom.
After School French. September 2004- May 2008
I was a volunteer for the Fargo PTA, teaching basic French to elementary school students, in an after school program to teach basic language skills and culture as well as instill the love of learning language.
French Club. September 2004-December 2008
I served as an officer in Concordia’s French Club, as Secretary and President. I was responsible for organizing all of French Clubs activities. I made contacts with the college and the larger Fargo-Moorhead community to promote French Club‘s mission, to promote the French language and francophone culture and serve the local and global community.
BHS ELL classroom. January 2009-June 2009
I devoted three days a week to tutoring English Language Learners, at Buffalo High School both individually, and in small groups, to achieve socially and academically. I spent time helping students understand and complete their daily assignments.
BARKA Foundation/GMFC/Une Option de Plus December 2009-June 2010
I am working to create a curriculum for students of all ages, kindergarte through university students that brings to life the history, culture and languages of Burkina Faso, demonstrating the interconnected world we live in is important to Americans and our future. In addition I translate documents from French to English anf English to French, including but not limited to newsletters, correspondence, brochures and presentations.
