A. Seeking a position as a printer. I have experience on automatic and manual presses,
as well as numbering presses. Although I am a capable artist, I am first and
foremost a screenprinter. Throughout my career, I have always been willing
and able to step from production floor to art room, and back, as was needed
at any given time.
B. Seeking a position as Production Artist, doing design work or separating
designs for production. My experience is heavy in both production and
preproduction, with knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop,
CorelDraw, Pulse by DG/ML, and many other graphics/layout software
packages. I am familiar with Mac and PC formats, and have output film
on several types of devices.

Was responsible for creating all art files, outputting film, burning screens,
overseeing production, and printing jobs.
Printing experience at this location consisted of running a 6-color manual press
as well as an Inline Technologies numbering machine.

Setup and run jobs up to 10 colors on M&R presses.
Responsible for preflight and output of customer supplied files on
thermal imagesetter. Entailed creating spot plates, applying traps as
needed, making underbases, and often involved complete reconstruction
of customer's vision to suit production needs.
Created original designs to suit customer specs.
All design work was required to be suitable for screenprinting, offset,
direct-to-garment, embroidery, or any other use required by that job.
Examples ranged from t-shirt screenprinting to ASI files printed on
promotional items offsite to brochures for distribution.
Learned digitizing for embroidery. Completed 40 hours of training with
Hirsch International on Tajima Pulse DG/ML software.
Prepped files for, and printed, jobs on Brother direct-to-garment
Learned operation of Tajima Neo one-head embroidery machine for
sew outs of digitized items.

Screenprinter/Production Manager/Art Director
Gained complete range of knowledge in the screenprinting process.
Operated automatic presses of varying manufacture in the process of
screenprinting t-shirts. Dealt with plastisol inks, waterbase inks, UV inks, and
discharge on light and dark garments. Continued printing as needed over entire
time with company.
Ran screen department from 1989-1993. Duties ranged from screen prep,
screen making, film archival, screen archival, and beta testing for various
suppliers of chemicals.
Managed production, along with some screen department and art
department duties from 1992-2007. Scheduled production on up to 4
presses, monitoring up to 100 jobs at a time.
Dealt closely with customers at every level of process, whether in person, by
phone, or by email.
Introduced company to computer graphics in 1995, leading to total digital art
department by 2001. Chose hardware and software packages needed, then
installed and maintained all art resources.
Art Director from 2001-2007. Handled all aspects of outsourcing art to
graphic artists nationwide, including tracking tasks, overseeing progress and
customer proofs, and recruitment. Responsible for creation of original
designs and correction of others art as needed to suit production.
Ran company's signmaking department from 2000-2007. Included design
and layout, running vinyl plotter, mask/weed, and install of signage. Types of
signs included coroplast, banners, realty signs, channel letters, vehicle
graphics, and lighted outdoor signage.
