I served as a team member working in the Barlow and Hood River ranger districts of the Mt. Hood National Forest. This was a physically demanding job in which I worked closely with my team under direction of the Forest Service to maintain and repair foot, equine, and multi-use trails. Approximately half the time was spent on Wilderness log-out, in which I used hand tools including a 7’ crosscut saw to manually remove down trees to maintain Forest Service standard specifications. The position required unsupported back country hitches up to 8 days and daily foot travel of up to 11 miles under often harsh conditions.
