I enjoy writing, songwriting, singing, choirs, music, photography, watercolour painting, old house restoration, body surfing, hiking and all things outdoors. I love the richness and variability of life. I love my family and the unique take each of my children has on the world. I am passionate about education for them and for all children.
Writing is an abiding interest and I enjoy the process of helping children and adults alike discover the writer within which longs to be expressed.
Teaching and training in Waldorf Schools has resulted in a blossoming of my interests and abilities in music and art. My previous academic, analytic approach to learning has been opened up and rounded out. I belong to a Gospel Choir. More recently, I have been painting and participated in my first show last June.
I grew up in North Vancouver, a beautiful city with mountains and ocean. I love the wilderness and urban wild places and seek them out. In university, I was on the women’s rowing team. This interest has transformed to less vigorous renditions of the sport, paddling on all manner of bodies of water.
The first house my husband and I purchased was a tall, skinny, tilting four-story wooden house built in 1909. I scraped and sanded, demolished and constructed. Since then we have owned several other old houses and I have enjoyed refining their characters.
