Managed the Art department, Associate Art Director, designer, art assistant, photo editor, and the Art budgets for a leading financial business magazine. Traveled extensively and set up cover shoots and lead story photo sessions for the magazine. Work with editors on story concepts and follow through with Illustration assignments.
Achievement: Inherited a 30,000-dollar over budget art department within the fiscal year brought the budget under budget by restructuring the photo editor's purchasing methods and pay scale for assignments.
Achievement: Convinced upper management to change wiring of computers and hubs attached to art server. This increased computer’s system speed resulting in faster transfer rates. Layouts, and corrections could be done faster.
Achievement: Consulted with upper management and the IT department to convert from analog to digital in the ampere theater and to change from viewing artwork mounted on boards to viewing layouts on the movie screen. We purchased a digital display projector. This allowed for seamless file transfer of layouts from the design department’s server to the ampere theater for editorial review, corrections and group discussion before sign off of all layouts and cover designs. Resulting in a faster, smoother presentation and huge monthly savings in printing ink and paper for presentations.
