Job involves: Primary secretarial assistance to six of the generalist attorneys of a pro bono firm covering six Western N.C. counties. Job entails transcription, preparation of legal documents, copy editing, proofreading of promotional and other documents, writing promotional pieces, letters, final reconciliation of bank statements, petty cash disbursements, filing, computer handling of client information in in-house system.

Job involved: Temporary and part time secretarial help to various law offices in the Asheville, NC area. (Additionally during this time worked as a part time medical transcriptionist for the Asheville VA Hospital).
2000 to 2001: American Society of Civil Engineers, Washington, D.C.
Title: Technical Activities Coordinator
Job involved: Transcription, writing, copy editing, meeting preparation, yearbook preparation, coordination between 20,000 civil engineers worldwide and the Technical Activities Committee central office in D.C. Worked out of my home approximately 2 weeks a month and company flew me to D.C. for approximately 2 weeks a month.

Jobs involved: Planning and coordinating international group travel, copywriting and editing tour brochures and promo pieces, working directly with tour leaders, escorting groups, negotiating group airfares, issuing airline tickets, negotiating group hotels and discounts on tours all over the world; preparing, finalizing and mailing trip documents for large groups, (25 to 500 plus).
Other jobs prior to travel agency work: Computer Programmer for Alpha Micro computers shortly after graduation from A-B Tech; approximately 1 year. While employed, rewrote the user manual for the system. Temporary secretarial jobs with Kelly Services, Asheville included over a year in hospital insurance billing at a medical practice in Fletcher, NC, over a year traveling to Champion Paper in Canton, NC replacing secretaries in various offices when they took vacation, and a short term helping with typing and secretarial work at BB&T bank in Asheville, NC.
Other relevant work history since approximately 1966 until move to N.C. in 1974; Roving teller and secretary for five branches of Gulf National Bank, Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi.
Education: A.A.S. Computer Programming; Asheville-Buncombe Technical College, Asheville, NC; Several years part time at UNCA – Asheville NC in Mass Communication, leaving during my senior year upon acceptance of the Technical Activities Coordinator position in the Washington, D.C. area.
Skills: excellent copy-editing, proofreading, writing skills; typing speed – 90+ wpm; all skills used in all places of employment on a regular daily or weekly basis.
