My name is Joshua Loose. I'm 26 years old and reside in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. I have a degree in History and Political Science with a minor in English from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. I have been out of school for a year now and I'm interested in following new and diverse career paths. I have a friend who is a technical editor for a large company in the area who sparked my interest in the field. That is what brought me to this website. As for experience, I draw largely from my time at school. Editing papers was one of the most critical aspects of success in University and I feel as though I was diligent in doing so. Also, I spent time helping friends and colleagues by proofreading their work before they submitted it. Lastly, I spent time working in an office that dealt with real estate appraisal. Here I learned much about technical writing and writing reports. After this experience I feel comfortable with this type of editing/writing as well. As stated, I am relatively new to this field, but I feel as though once given a chance to use my skills, I can prove myself as a proficient writer and editor.
