I have been an artist of one sort or another my entire adult life. I began designing and making dresses for girls in high school for their prom at the age of 16, with my first wedding being created at the age of 19. The theme of the wedding was late 19th century Winter Romance with a white velvet wedding gown copied from pictures of photographs from a late 19th century McCall's Pattern book being the center of the work. After 16 years as a designer/seamstress, I took my professional life towards paint and began doing mural and faux finishes in both residential and commercial environments. With the collapse of the economy my business was impossible to continue with employees and overhead costs, so I turned to writing as the main thrust of my professional life doing research and writing academic papers. I have a long history of working in the creative world and will continue to do so employing all of my skills in such a way to promote a unique set of services for clientele.
I'm currently working on a collection of pieces called The Lace and Pearl Project. The Lace and Pearl Project is a collection of artistic work that expresses the feminine, celebrating what it is to be female through objects that express modern interpretations of the female gender.
