After working extensively on feature film and television productions early in my career I joined
The Walt Disney Studios in 1990 and advanced through the motion picture/television and home entertainment divisions. Since 2001, I have served as the key creative and administrative head of my L.A.-based production company, Sparkhill, and teach production and film studies at several institutions.
2001 – present
President, Executive Producer, Director
I manage Sparkhill, a full-service creative and production/post company and leading producer of original programming for major motion picture studios. I have produced documentaries, interactive features, promos, and narrative content for more than 300 home entertainment and broadcast projects including Iron Man, The Wizard of Oz, An Inconvenient Truth, Leonard Maltin’s Disney Treasures, Astaire and Rogers, Family Guy, 24, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Sweeney Todd, Braveheart, and The African Queen. The company also embraces emerging technologies and mediums with the first-ever “mobisodes” including 24: Conspiracy, Prison Break: Proof of Innocence, Vanished: Sacrifice, and Bones: Skeleton Crew, all based on the Twentieth Century Fox TV shows. In addition to producing and directing the award-winning feature Breathing Hard, I am currently in active development of the motion picture, People of the Sea with producer Gary Foster (Community, The Soloist, Ghost Rider, Sleepless in Seattle) and starring Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine).

I teach three courses: Introduction to Visual Storytelling, Intermediate Production, and Advanced Production Workshop, all designed for undergraduate production majors in the film and television programs. The courses focus on creation of original digital projects that explore writing, directing, cinematography, and editing.
THE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS
Producer, Disney DVD Production (2000 – 2001)
Key creative and physical production executive for Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Responsibilities included producing value-added features for leading Disney movies.
Director, Post Production (1996 – 2000)
Administration and strategic planning for all studio motion picture and television post-production departments including audio mixing, sound editorial, picture editorial, ADR/foley, projection, and negative cutting. Responsibilities included supervisory duties for 100+ staff, labor relations; technological evaluation and approval; assistance with design and construction of new facilities; creative staffing; fiscal and project budgeting; facilities packaging for feature and television production.
Manager, Production Services (1990 – 1996)
Management of studio services and liaison to Disney motion picture and television productions. Departments included: camera, grip/lighting, transportation, property, sound stages, and location services.
Associate Producer (1989 – 1990)
Managed several Disney television pilots including "Beacon" and "Heroes Among Us."
FREELANCE FILM AND TELEVISION
1980 – 1990
East coast-based physical production work for over 30 major motion picture and television projects. Logistics and liaison responsibilities for such productions as Broadcast News, Gardens of Stone, Peggy Sue Got Married, and St. Elmo’s Fire.
