I am an avid enthusiast of life. I love to learn, be creative and along the way help as many people as I can!
I have been a successful business owner in the Medical Equipment industry for fourteen years as the co-owner/operator of MEDIchair Cranbrook & Castlegar. Out of the more than fifty franchises in Canada, we were the fifth largest and in 2005 we were honoured with the “Franchisee of the Year” award.
My area of expertise is in daily operations, including procedure and training. My experience is derived from working at every position within the company, enabling me to formulate strategies to build a more efficient business foundation.
These areas included bookkeeping, purchasing, sales, inventory control and customer service. I wrote and was awarded twelve Government contracts to supply Medical Equipment and I created a complete step by step training program using PowerPoint with over 60 modules for the accounting software we used.
I am self taught in the following:
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Accounting software Business Vision, Simply Accounting and QuickBooks
• Desktop Publishing – Publisher, SmartDraw VP and a recent user of Adobe CS5
• Interior Decorating
• Stained Glass
I am a high achiever and results orientated person as an example I graduated with highest honors in Interior Decorating while staying home with my twins. My boys are now ten years old and my husband and I have sold the business. I have been freelancing for the last two years and enjoying the diversity it affords.
