As a passionate and dedicated freelance editor I am committed to words and the people who write them, and I love polishing a piece of writing to make it truly shine. I have an energetic, creative and positive outlook and a willingness to engage deeply with the requirements of writers, publishers and readers.

* Editing and communication
I have a good eye for detail, a sound knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation, and an ability to improve clarity and coherence while retaining the essential voice of the author. My skills include substantive and structural editing, copy-editing, and proof-reading and I have a particular interest in and affinity for editing fiction.
* Inter-personal relations
The relationships I develop with writers are constructive and mutually-rewarding, and I am constantly aware that an editor needs to exercise respect, empathy, patience and tact. I consider it a privilege to help guide, motivate and encourage an author.
* Dependability
I am self-motivated and have strong organisational abilities, with the ability to sustain focus and work to deadline with enthusiasm and accuracy. I work well under pressure.
* Computer proficiency
I am experienced and competent in Word, and very comfortable using the internet and email.
