Managed, from concept to execution and backend analysis, every piece of printed promotional matter; targeting the educational and institutional (e.g., public and school libraries) markets, to include a 72 page catalog, direct mail campaigns, print advertisements, large-scale convention graphics, sell sheets, posters, invitations to receptions and focus groups, etc.. Under my watch, the main catalog increased in size from 52 to 72 pages and featured more than 875 individual titles, the rate of trackable orders grew from a low of 7% to a high of 60% and a new video catalog was created.


Product Acquisition: spoke daily with major publishing and television executives, e.g., Random House, Little Brown, HBO, Turner Learning, CourtTV and WGBH.

Direct Mail: strategized, analyzed mailing list performance, researched potential list candidates based on criteria as profession, product affinity and recency, frequency, and money spent.

Solicited bids and contracted free lance and corporate designers and copywriters for the purposes of creating promotional pieces and product packaging.

In bringing a wholly new video label to consumer, institutional and trade markets, managed a budget of $2.5 million dollars annually: strategized and managed direct mail campaigns, space ads, product packaging, sell sheets, and point-of-purchase displays; negotiated acquisition of new product; drafting legal contracts; pitching product to major wholesalers and distributors; data base segmentation.


Conducting an average of 4 rollouts and/or follow-up campaigns, 3 wet tests and exhibiting at such conferences as the Video Software Dealers Association, Las Vegas, NV.

Intentionally planned to coincide with the release of Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park, identified Dinosaurs, - a shelved product - re-packaged it and conceived and implemented a direct mail campaign that yielded a response rate of more than 13%, selling 26,000+ videos in six weeks.

Intricately involved in co-production agreements, served as an Associate Producer of the Marine Mammal Fund's Penguin World and was greatly involved in negotiating agreements with the Library of Congress (The Library of Congress Silent Film Collection) and SunWest Media (Dreams of Flight) set.

Presented at 1st Annual Special Interested Video Association Conference, New York, 1993 and exhibited at conferences in Las Vegas, NV; Chicago, IL; New York, NY.
