Having attained qualifications in educational psychology, counselling, adult education and, prior to that, in Technical and Further Education. My doctoral thesis was awarded in July 2007, having gained valuable experience in the development and implementation of research and, during my candidature, have had opportunities to teach in a range of programs at Universities and the Australian College of Applied Psychology. Over the past ten years I shared the outcomes of this research at international conferences involving a broad range of practitioners who work with youth and their families. I have published a number of International Journal papers, magazine and newspaper articles. I have been involved widely in the community, for example, organising Psychosocial intervention programs and counselling, support groups for adults and students from diverse backgrounds and needs.I have contributed to a range of programs in psychology, counselling and education over the years, predominantly as a tutor/lecturer at The University of Queensland, Australian College of Applied Psychology and a teacher in Behavioural Support Services/Guidance Counsellor.
