Cape Fear Sentencing Services

Director of the Sentencing Services program for the 13th judicial district, covering Brunswick, Bladen, and Columbus Counties. Managed the program, which provides court services to the judicial district. Drafted court reports, marketed the program, and served on the drafting committee for the state. Made presentations to state and county organizations, civic groups, and county and state officials. Worked within the Brunswick County grant system, developing budgets and procuring state grants, as well as matching grants from the three-county district. Provided leadership on the local and state level, and was called upon many times to speak at state functions to encourage growth in other state programs. Recruited board members in the community and presided over the board meetings. Created and revised corporate documents (bylaws, job descriptions, etc.).

Notable Accomplishments:
• Developed program into the #1 program of its kind in the state within two years, and maintained the #1 position since that time
• Served on the manual drafting committee for the state of North Carolina, to develop policies and procedures for the state, county, and non-profit programs
• Prepared and drafted sentencing reports for the court
• Ran the program recognized by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina as being the best program of its kind in the state
• Consistently exceeded goals and expectations, laid out by the state, setting the standard for other programs across the state
• Trained and assisted in the development of training protocols used throughout the state
