I have over thirty-four years experience as an insurance underwriter, reinsurance underwriter, insurance agency owner, and insurance company executive. I retired from that business to teach general business, English, creative writing, public speaking, yearbook, and publications for eight years. I have retired once again and now work full time in my freelance writing and business consulting business.

1966 – 1972 Multiple line underwriter for Ohio Casualty Insurance Company
1972 – 1985 Reinsurance underwriter and insurance company executive;
and president of Presidio Insurance Company.
1985 - 2000 Owner of Miami Valley Excess & Surplus Agency, started from scratch and built to a six million dollar business operating in six states with offices in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia before selling it in 2000.
2001 – 2003 – Director Midwest Region for Burlington Insurance Group growing this business from $8 million a year to $25 million a year.
2003 – 2011Teacher of American literature/junior English, public speaking, general business, creative writing, publications, and yearbook as well as writing and insurance consulting
