Hello, my name is Amanda.
I have a great interest in botany, nature, nature photography, and painting/drawing (both digital and mixed media). My style of painting is more fantastical and sci-fi. However, I also enjoy doing realistic illustrations of plants or other wildlife.
There are examples of some digital paintings in my portfolio as well as a mix of other drawings and smaller paintings. If you wish to see the full render of any of these, just ask.
My artistic skills would be a great match for book illustrations, book cover creations, specific painting or drawing requests, and conceptual art for stories and video games.
I am also a skilled writer. I have written hundreds of poems, short stories, and have several in-progress novels. I was a reading tutor for students in high school. I received perfect grades in Honors English and AP English courses. A psychologist professor recently told me that I have "a natural skill for writing not learnable in any classroom". Although I am most experienced with fiction writing and poetry, I would be willing to write anything with enough direction. First and foremost, I will make sure I have a perfect understanding of what your writing needs to be. And I will communicate with you every step of the way.
As for editing, that is something I enjoy doing as well! I was a beta reader for Project Fiction for 2 years, and helped about 20-30 writers with their novels. I have been in groups of fiction editors in the past and would be willing to edit any type of writing for the right price.
My strategy for editing involves: 1) A thorough reading of the work and an initial response to its entirety; 2) Attention to all the details. Grammar, spelling, syntax, consistency, tone, etc.; and 3) Formatting and a final proofreading. However, if you have anything you would like me to further comment on or pay special attention to, I can certainly do that as well.
If you choose to contact me about freelance work (whether it be art, writing, or editing), I will get back with you as quickly as I can. Typically no longer than 12 hours.
