I am a freelance illustrator and digital painter that specialises in comic book and graphic novel artistry. As a highly motivated worker, I strive to generate vivid atmospheres and dynamic scenes with highly gestural and emotive characters, paying special attention to body language and facial expression so as to draw the reader in for a meaningful experience.
Prior experience includes an internship in Littlewoods design department, Speke, where I gained insight into the importance of composition and page layout. As such, I am able to compose my own pages and panels in a highly legible manner.
Additionally, I have served as logo designer for the Wirral based charity "Hope Springs Eternal" and have contributed to online zines, most notably the "YJ Fanbook vol.2" where I composed an eight page, full colour comic using DC's characters from the 1999 'Young Justice series' (And was credited under my birth name, Amy Robson for both.)
I am fully qualified, having graduated Liverpool John Moores University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons)
My skill set includes:
Traditional figure drawing and sketching,
Traditional outlining using a dip pen and sumi ink, as well as pen/fine-liner detail
Digital lineart and colouring in Corel Painter
Complete compositing of pages in Adobe InDesign and ComicLife.
