I am a writer, editor and proofreader. My qualifications are as follows:
Bachelor of Arts (English)
Graduate Certificate in Arts (Creative Writing)
Masters in Creative Writing
I am currently completing a diploma in proof-reading and editing to make it official, but I have much experience in this area. I have been writing for almost eight years and have done much of my own proofreading and editing during this time. I belong to two different writer's critique groups, one of them since 2008, so I have much experience in critiquing and fine-tuning other people's work as well. I have also done informal editing and proofreading projects at different times over the last few years.
I've recently completed my first novel and it is likely to be published at the end of 2016. Other writing credits include:
“What Kind of Christmas?” – Children’s story for PSSM Discovery Magazine (Dec 2009)
“Beyond Blessed” – Quarter Hour Weekly, Palmerston North (September 2012)
“Mother and Memory” – Positive Words Magazine, Australia (May 2013)
2009: Whangarei Libraries Youth Creative Writing Competition (3rd place, short story) – “Love for the People”
2013: AUT Creative Writing Competition (2nd place, poetry, 15+ category) – “After Saying Love”
2014: Whangarei Libraries Flash Fiction Competition (3rd Place) – “Underwater Girl”
August 2012-present: Writing a blog – christeljeffs91.wordpress.com
In terms of writing skills, I have experience writing in a variety of different genres, including:
Journalistic writing/press releases
