11/1998 - December 2014, 1084 Visual information specialist, DJ3
Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) and the Navy Medical Research Center (NMRC), Medical Audio Visual Services, Silver Spring, MD. I served as a graphic artist in the Division of Medical Audio Visual Services to WRAIR and NMRC, with responsibilities for performing graphic and fine art services illustrating medical research for the soldier’s combat care and the general public.
Handed numerous work orders, I consulted with researchers and other specialists to develop an understanding of the project objectives. I provided conciliations, researched and studied background material’s gathering ideas for creating the best possible visuals. I’ve created logos for WRAIR, the NAVs Neuro-Cognitive Vestibular-Acoustic Trauma Unit, and the US Army for the Accession Screening & Immunization Program. I designed a number of illustrations such as: the Plasmodia Life Cycle on Malaria, and various infectious diseases for publications around the world. I’ve designed and printed posters, brochures, programs, slide presentations for symposiums, and various other ceremonies. I’ve also designed and built large format displays. Also, I worked with our IT Dept. as lead artist in the redesign of WRAIR‘s web sites; http://wrair-www.army.mil/. From time-to-time, I provided vocal services and musical productions to the command’s ethic and retirement ceremonies.
I take pride in my work, and held an exceptional relationship with all my customers and researchers. I worked closely with them, building trust and giving them a quality product they would be proud of. Consequently, they were able to get the funding they needed.
Each year I’ve received numerous commendations. I worked independently under the supervision of the Chief, Department of Medical Graphics.
