Position Summary: Designed and directed the production of 5 catalog titles, 13 to 15 catalogs a year, while ensuring content consistency, branding models, printer and deadline requirements. Catalog pages were built in Quark, images and supporting art was created/modified in Photoshop and Illustrator, then the finished catalogs were submitted via pdf format electronically to the printer. Other responsibilities included the development of all internal production, the overseeing of all external print production schedules, tracked and analyzed each subordinates productivity through goals measured through on-time production delivery and 97% accuracy and worked closely with executive management, merchandising, and the web team to create a multi-channel marketing environment that maximized catalog sales and profitability. Additionally, the position required extensive customer relationships with the outside printer and paper brokers, the management of the production artists, a proofreader and copywriter, and the organization, utilization and maintenance of the content management system. Furthermore, quality was ensured by the overseeing of press and bindery checks, and the gathering of images and word documents that were created for the iStore web uploads. And lastly, the responsibility of each year’s product and cover photography was realized through model selection, planning, budgeting and art direction.

Position Summary: Guided and managed the production of house accounts and outside sales projects. All projects were created from concept through completion from internal or external customer specifications by managing the coordination of design elements, typesetting, camera work, stripping on negatives and burning of metal plates. From inception to plate ready, all projects were created to customer guidelines from pre-press to press-ready in a deadline driven environment by myself and staff of 3 to 5 associates. Additional miscellaneous duties work included archiving of work, custom relations and the outsourcing of specialties, screen printing and business cards.

Position Summary: The work primarily consisted of a contract account for Winn Dixie and weekly grocery store layouts with versioning for multiple locations. Along with the store ads a monthly newsletter was produced to coincide and cross-sell products that promoted healthier living in conjunction with Ocshner Hospital systems of
New Orleans. Various other freelance accounts included the Sport Spectrum tabloid, Print Media Graphics, Birmingham Times and miscellaneous work for Video Xpress and Little Caesar’s. All projects were created in
a fast-paced environment through customer collaboration and built through illustration, clip art usage, camera work, typesetting and color prep as applicable.

Titles included weekly Super Valu, Food Center and Western Supermarkets Ads, the Evangelist, the Alabama Forum, Long Electronics, Marks Fitzgerald, Lichter’s, Jaymark and multiple miscellaneous accounts. All titles were created to customer specification, including design, camera work, typesetting, paste-up, transparency prep, proofing and color work both negative and positive.

Position Summary: Created display ads for local newspaper sales team. Built ads to customer specs and/or designed ads to the direction of the sales team input. Ads were created and directed from inception to page ready, including typesetting, paste-up and color work. Created several topical illustrations to support specific stories for
the newspaper.

Equipment and Software:
MAC OSX and personal computers, servers, and high-end color printing equipment. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark Xpress. Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat Professional, PDF exchange portal programs, ftp sites. General use of email, fax, digital camera and office equipment.
