For many years I have worked as an illustrator. Clients have included the Government of Guyana, Carole Joy Creations, Cricket Magazine and The Heritage Collection.
As of recent my attention has been devoted to the creating of works for private collections. My works are heavily influenced by the Old Masters, film noir, and the music of The Doors. The technique involved borrows from the Masters. Before color is applied the painting begins as a monochromatic image done in shades of warm grays. This acts as the foundation onto which transparent color, glazes, are then applied. It is by no means an expeditious method but it allows for greater flexibility at each stage of development.
Though having attended the H.S. of Art and Design, I have never been formally trained in the art of painting. Much of what I have learned has come from incessant reading and continual practice.
