I have over two years of technical writing experience working for the Calgary Board of Education on a contract basis. In my time with the CBE, I've mostly written user manuals and produced (wrote scripts, filmed and edited) training videos on how to use an online database program called Archibus Web Central. Each user manual and video I've created has been tailored for a specific user group. Archibus Web Central serves a variety of purposes at the CBE, such as managing the organization's work request system, projects, musical instruments, CTS equipment, and energy usage systems. I've also beta tested software changes and updates before they were released to the end users, liaised with employees on business procedures, and implemented said procedures in my work, and created and updated Visio workflows as well.
Before starting my current job, I completed my Bachelor of Applied Communications degree at MacEwan University in Edmonton. During my time in the program, I learned a variety of communication skills, such as creative writing, business and PR writing, magazine writing, copyediting and proofreading.
Overall, I am a talented, confident and hard working communicator with a high attention to deal, and I am happy to get the job done.
