I have been writing songs and poems for the pass ten years. I am a member of the following organizations: The Black & African Arts & Culture Promotion International Organization Inc.(TBAACPIOI), also (ASCAP) American Society of Author Composers & Publishers, Jamaica National Chorale, (JNC), Jamaica Dance Theatrical Society (JDTS), Jamaica Institute Of The Arts (JIOTA), Logansport Civic Theater(LCT), and the American Poetry Association(APA).
I am currently an A&R Executive(Independent Contractor) for IMF, A Talent Scout, and an Entertainment Coordinator for my own company, GI Records & RruffNekkTalentMgmt.
In 1985 I migrated to the Island of Bermuda, while I was living there, I wrote several songs for a record company called Sunrise Records, and all my songs were air played on Bermuda Radio Station, Hot 107.5. I wrote songs like, "Will You Still Remember," "Girls Do Fall In Love," "Thinking Of You," "Mr. Magic Man," etc. I also was involved with a group of other writers in assisting with projects consisted of writing commercial jingles for several clients in the USA.
As a member of the American Poetry Association, I have won awards, and received honorable mention certificates and plaques for outstanding achievement in excellence in poetry. I am currently in working with a National Publishing Company for my next poem, entitled: "Black and Blue." Eber & Wein Publishing. In 2014, I was awarded a Songwriting Contract by Paramount Records in Nashville, Tennessee and I am currently awaiting the results of their 2014 Valentine's Day Songwriting Competition that I entered as a contestant in 2014.
Recently, one of my songs received an evaluation from London Sky Records, and I scored 85.9% total by a Music Industry Professional. The results from that evaluation as granted me the possibility for future co-writing, and possible recording contracts.
