Responsibilities include managing the health insurance hotline for the agency. Able to handle high pressure phone calls, politely and professionally, while answering callers questions and educating the consumer. Appointments are made with appropriate Field Navigators, ensuring consumer knows exactly what information to bring to appointment. Directions to facilities are given for each appointment. All consumers that need assistance elsewhere are given the proper referral information to direct them to their preferred outcome. Knowledge of many local and state resources available to assist consumers. Responsibilities also include in-person applications assisting individuals in obtaining health insurance through the NYS of Health Market Place. Must follow all rules and expectations of NYS as well as all HIPAA and privacy compliance's of the Alliance for Positive Health. Ability to read Federal tax form 1040 and convert information into NYS of Health application. High degree of listening skills needed to process applications without delays. Also responsible for applications in the field for home bound individuals and filling in for co-workers when needed. A great amount of Outreach and Education is conducted in the field as well as from the office. Data entry on all consumers I meet with or refer out to other agencies must be completed within 24 hours of contact with the consumer. Detailed follow up is necessary on applications that await document review by the state. Other duties include acting as Office Assistant to Office Manager when needed.
