As a Journalist:
Worked for 28 years in Radio & Television, in SA, WA, NSW, Europe, UK & USA; including as a Talk Show Host, News Reader, Documentary Maker, Arts Programme Presenter, European Correspondent & London Bureau Chief, Seven Television Network Australia.
As a Writer:
Reported for news agencies and magazines in Australia, Europe and the UK, as well as writing radio and television commercials, documentaries, multi-media marketing presentations, newsletters and promotional material for a wide variety of clients. He maintains his own blog & web page (www.4thmesaproductions.com) and is working on his first novel; “I.D. 4”
As a Teacher:
Tutored in Broadcast Journalism at Curtin University, and instructed in Media Training at St John Ambulance (Bid conceived and designed the course and also worked as a PR consultant for St John) and a host of other organisations.
As an Actor:
Appeared in more than 40 feature and short films, television movies, docu-dramas and series, as well as a host of stage and multi-media productions. He is a key member of the creative team at innovative theatre/multimedia ensemble; Ellandar Productions Australia. He has a Diploma in Screen Acting from FTI., Fremantle.
As a Playwright:
Written two short plays on the theme of miscommunication in a modern age – entitled “Flies On The Wall” and “Shrinking Violet” - designed as a double bill. The work has already been performed at an animated reading and is planned for the stage (in conjunction with Ellandar Productions UK) later in 2015.
As a Film/VideoDirector/Editor:
Produced everything from television commercials to television documentaries, his own short films to online video presentations. He is a highly competent internet user.
As a Registered Marriage & Funeral Celebrant:
Officiated at dozens of funerals; making all arrangements with grieving families, liaising with the relevant Funeral Directors and Arrangers, researching and writing the text and delivering the service on the day.
As a Voice Actor:
Since 1974, the “voice” of clients all over the world, including WA Tourism, IKEA, QBE, Wesfarmers, Snap Printing, Alcoa, St John Ambulance, Messages On Hold (in 14 countries) and literally hundreds of others, as well as a variety of characters in animated films.
As an Acting Teacher:
Taught at a variety of institutions, including Southern Cross Academy of Performing Arts, Joondalup Academy of Performing Arts, Filmbites Youth Film School and Nicholson's Academy of Performing Arts. He continues to take private students and devise courses, with particular reference to the techniques of Sanford Meisner.
As a Voice Teacher:
Devised and taught innovative vocal techniques for characterisation.
As a Presenter:
He has conducted his own Arts & Entertainment programme on the 10 Network and his own radio talk show at 5DN Adelaide. He has appeared as a guest on a number of radio shows.
