INTERESTS

As a fan of rugby union I play every weekend for a local club and captained a team for a season, developing my leadership abilities. I also ski regularly and am a keen runner, completing the Bristol Half Marathon in aid of a conservation charity.
Trips to visit family in Australia have given me a passion for travel, and in 2005 I completed an independent crossing of the Western High Atlas Mountains in Morocco. A keen interest in wildlife and science led me to complete a Level 3 diploma in Marine Biology, and last September I worked on a conservation project on Madagascar’s remote south coast, achieving a PADI Rescue Diver qualification. In November, I completed a three-week trek in the Nepali Himalaya, crossing the pass of the world’s eighth highest mountain, Manaslu, at an altitude of over 5,000m.
