As Managing Editor I head up the Recipe Development & Publications Team at Thermomix in Australia for the planning and production of our cookbooks (online and digital) and food/recipe-related copy. This dynamic senior position requires the project management of diverse publications and their priorities and deadlines. It includes leading the editorial and recipe development team, strategic and creative planning of publications including budgeting and scheduling, supplier and contributor relations, journalism, copywriting and copyediting, subbing, art direction, food styling and photography, recipe development and recipe writing.

West Australian Publishers is the publishing arm of the Seven West Media Group and produces a wide range of print and online publications, including a bi-monthly lifestyle magazine Minestyle, a monthly specialist industry newspaper, The Mining Chronicle, a series of annual guides such as The West Australian Good Food Guide, and The West Australian Wedding Guide, alongside a new launch for 2013, FRESH Mini Cookbook Series, for which I was Editor.
As Deputy Editor and Food Editor across all our titles, my role required working with the Editor to manage the editorial team and the planning and production of the company’s publications.
The job required high levels of organizational and creative skills, including project and team management, copywriting, journalism, copyediting, subbing, recipe writing, and art direction.

I was promoted to Food Editor after six months in my position as Journalist at West Australian Publishers. With this I continued my journalistic role across all the company’s titles with special responsibility for the food pages of the various publications.
During this time I was also part of a small team which managed the re-design of Minestyle magazine and the company’s online portal myresources.com.au, as well as the launch and planning of our social media presence on both Twitter and Facebook.
