I have a B.A. in English from Ursinus College, where I graduated as a Phi Beta Kappan and Magna *** Laude. Additionally, I have an M.A. in English from The College of New Jersey. Currently I am working towards a Ph.D. in Education: Curriculum and Teaching, with three courses remaining before the dissertation phase, but I am taking two of them now. Additionally, I have a New Jersey standard certification—highly qualified—, Instructional Level I teaching certification for Pennsylvania, and a certificate in Writing for Children and Teenagers from the Institute of Children’s Literature.
I have experience working on curriculum and assessment, namely horizontal and vertical articulation and backward design. For over four years I have been an English adjunct. Prior to instructing at the post-secondary level, I taught three years as a high school English teacher (American, British, and World literature). I have tutor in everything ranging from the flute to writing and test preparation for over thirteen years.
Published works include four entries in a literary encyclopedia, two poems and two mainstream articles. I also have 20 articles self-published via HubPages.
