I am largely a self-taught painter and illustrator, though I studied Visual Art and Illustration at Capilano University in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for 5 years.
I enjoy working in a figurative and detailed way and I aim to make my work expressive and visually interesting through tone and mark-making. My recent graphic works, in process, take on a life of their own and seem to evolve into contemplative exercises. I get lost in them, and am often surprised when I pin them to my studio wall and discover what they’ve become as a unified whole.
I also have several years of experience working with children in the school system. I believe this makes me a valuable asset to have because I have tremendous amounts of knowledge towards children's likes and dislikes - I know how to grab the attention of your audience through illustration.
