EMPLOYMENT 2009-2014 Graphic Designer, Glass Artist, LaffingGlassStudio I am currently working as a freelance designer and consultant on graphic jobs and installations. I also operate two small art studios at which I produce and sell glass pieces in galleries and produce custom orders for clients.

2006-2009 Graphic Operations Supervisor, Design Craftsmen llc.
I supervised a 10 person staff in the graphics department of a multi-million, international exhibit fabrication company while providing management for production and scheduling of all graphic elements. I worked closely with project management and clients on coordination of design, digital files and quality control. I provided value engineering by encouraging the use of new medias and materials. The job required travel to many jobs sites to supervise and assist with installation when necessary.

2005 Subcontract Graphic Installer, Xibitz Inc.
I subcontracted for various projects in the graphics dept. I produced and installed graphics for Fredrick Meijer Gardens Children’s Park, Spectrum Hospital, Haworth, Herman Miller and Steelcase. I worked extensively on the Neocon showrooms in Chicago.

I assisted in the development of a new sign and graphics company. I designed and produced all incoming projects while training and educating staff on equipment and procedures. My responsibilities also included working heavily with sales and marketing to help establish the business.

Head of graphics dept at a large tradeshow and museum exhibit fabricator. My functions included inventory, ordering, scheduling, designing, graphic outputand mounting. I worked on Mac and PC operating platforms. I also worked with a variety of industry software such has Gerber, Flexi, Illustrator, Photoshop and AutoCad.

1994-2006 Owner/Operator, Norton Signs and Graphics/LAF Designage Inc.
I purchased an existing sign company and expanded its functions and capabilities to included digital printing, design services and silkscreen printing. I worked with all aspects of running a small successful business.

1992-1994 Graphic Artist, Design Source llc.
I assisted in the production and application of graphics for tradeshows, vehicle and graphic design. I worked with a variety of media and equipment. I gained extensive knowledge of the graphics and tradeshow industry.

1988-1992 Graphic Artist, Keyliner, Flashes Publishers Inc.
I performed page layout and graphic design for the several local newspapers that the company printed and produced in house. Company went from manual layout to mac computer layouts and graphics.
