Direct a team of staff and freelance writers, illustrators, mechanical artists and quality control people for the production of the step by step sewing instructions for the various designs created for the home sewing market. Designs include women’s, men’s, children’s fashions, accessories, crafts and home decoration. Plan and update daily production schedules. Track productivity of staff and give performance reviews. Set up and monitor training of new employees. Coordinate with home sewing industry designers such as Claire Shaeffer and Sandra Betzina and publications such as Sew News and Creative Machine Embroidery. Coordinate with the patternmaking and design departments. Key member of a team that developed a database that increased productivity of writers and illustrators by 65%.

Supervisor Technical Art Department (1985 - 2004)
Supervised technical illustrators, mechanical artist and quality control people. Hired and trained new staff and freelance personnel, reviewed performances, planned schedules, coordinated with writing department. Directed staff in training and implementing the switch from hand drawn illustration and mechanicals to producing the instruction sheets using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Quark Xpress. Conceptualized and developed new product, "Big Blocks", which utilized pattern tissue for making quilts.

Responsible for technical illustration of the instructions for construction of garments, crafts & home dec. Also did layouts and mechanicals. Trained new personnel. Assisted supervisor and ran department in supervisor's absence.

Quilt Designer/Sample maker: Freelance (2000-2004)
Designed and made photography samples for a variety of quilt patterns for McCall Patterns. Patterns included quilts, wall hangings, pillows, tote bags, vests, and table toppers using traditional quilt blocks and original designs.

Freelance Illustrator (1980/1999)
llustration for articles published in the McCall Sewing Magazine, promotional brochure for Heritage Trims, technical illustration for McCall Creates Leaflets and various brochures for the Education Department. Illustration for packaging designs for Barbie and Brooke Shield toys.
