I completed specialized courses completed in cellular biology, microbiology, genetics, bacteriology,
physiology, and ecology of disease.
I volunteered with graduate research projects such as the exploration and distinction of endangered
mussels and the cataloguing of leaves for nitrogen concentrations.
I conducted research over the course of two years on the respiratory physiology of Lithasia
obovata under acute and acclimated temperature fluctuations. During my research, I utilized
programs such as Word and Excel to organize and keep record of my data. My findings were
presented to the Kentucky Academy of Science in the fall of 2009, with high recognition and
second place honors awarded in their annual research competition. Editorial revisions are currently
underway with the goal of publication.

I am a volunteer driver with a permanent route, delivering meals to fifteen elderly people
biweekly. I am also a substitute for four other routes.
