Hi, I’m Zoie and I am an aspiring writer. My areas of interest are creative writing, blog writing, song and poetry writing, script and screen writing, writing novels and informative articles.
I have been published in several magazines, both print and online, and have participated in a work experience placement at the local newspaper in order to further my journalism career.
I have a blog http://dawsonlilmiss.blogspot.co.uk/ in which I inform my readers of things I think will interest them, which could involve anything from film and media to welfare and politics.
I am currently writing a novel which, when complete, I intend to self-publish. In order to inspire my writing, and keep my ideas fresh, I regularly write short stories and story ideas, which I can store away and potentially use at a later date.
For years I have been writing poetry having been inspired by other poets such as Sylvia Plath, Charles Baudelaire, Arthur Rimbaud, Alexander Pope and William Shakespeare. When I learnt how to play guitar, I put my poems to music and changed them into songs. In total, I have written more than 500 songs, which are all compiled in a paper portfolio.
At college I studied Film and Television, and my film knowledge is incredibly varied. It is here that I developed an interest in journalism, as well as my interest in scriptwriting.
Previously, I studied English and Journalism at the University of Lincoln, UK, in order to pursue my interest in journalism. After taking a gap year to persue other interests, I intend to change my area of study to Science, in order to expand my skill base and knowledge intake.
