Exhibitions, Awards and Experience
In 1999, I was accepted into the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts as a visual arts major. I consistently studied the arts throughout middle and high school, where I completed an independent study in fine art. I enrolled in college level credit courses and was accepted into the National Honor Society. In my senior year, I attended a ten day study abroad program during which I visited museums and monuments in England, France and Spain. I graduated from Cleveland Hill High school with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Distinction.
During undergraduate college, I consistantly made the dean's list, leading me to receive the *** Laude title at graduation for above average GPA. I was awarded automatic acceptance into the Bachelor of Fine Arts program, after presenting my body of work in my second year, exempting from the BFA application process. At my Senior Exhibition gallery opening, the dean of Fredonia University awarded me with his Best In Show award for my themed playing card series.
After graduation, I began my freelance career doing graphic design along with fashion and jewelry design and sales. In September 2012, I became employed as a portrait photographer and sales specialist for Picture Me Portrait Studios. After my manager changed companies, I acted as an assistant administrator, sharing studio operating and management duties with one other business associate.
Since February 2013, I’ve been employed as the primary digital photo retouch specialist for Spoil Me Silly glamour photography studio. With my current company, I’ve gained receptionist experience while perfecting my skills in Adobe Photoshop, with which I've given a flawless editorial-style finish to over 200 clients and ounting. I designed a billboard for the company, which displayed my work on Transit Road in Buffalo, NY this spring.
September 2013, six of my paintings were featured at the Buffalo Town Ballroom for the nationally recognized ultraviolet light fashion show, Glamour and Glow. I also displayed body painting on runway models for the show, and was selected to film an artist interview for a G&G promotional video.
October 2013 I participated in Community Canvases Enhance Elmwood campagn as one of 14 artists chosen to paint murals in Elmwood villiage. My piece “Be the Change”is featured on a transformer box on the corner of Elmwood and Lexington.
