To whom it may concern,

My name is Adam and I am a writer. When I was attending College, I went to a party in Manhattan. My friend, a fellow actor/writer in the performing arts department, was feeling uncertain about her future and I wanted to cheer her up. We went out to the balcony and I shouted loud enough for all of lower Manhattan to hear, "I AM A WRITER." I told my friend to do the same; to tell the world what she was with confidence and pride. She shouted, "I AM AN ACTOR." She told me later that the moment gave her the strength to pursue her dreams.

It hasn't always been easy for me as I fight for a desired career as a writer, but I refuse to give up. I have extensive experience working as a free-lance writer for film and television productions based in both the east and west coasts. Also, I have written many original screenplays and essays. You can find samples of my work as a writer at and I would be more than happy to send you further samples at your request. In addition, I am including my resume with this email for your consideration. Whether you decide to work with me or not, I wish you all the best as you pursue your dreams as well. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future and I thank you for your consideration.
