Houston Radiology Associated in Houston, TX 01/03-08/04
Administrative Assistant to the Clinic Manager of the Endovascular Neuroradiology
Department at Methodist Hospital. My primary responsibilities were transcription
(interventional radiology), credentialing, help in research projects, scheduling meetings,
airline and hotel reservations, help in coordination of international symposiums,
scheduling meetings for the Neuroradiology Fellowship Program, meetings at
Baylor College of Medicine and the Methodist Hospital. The association consisted
of thirty-one physicians at three satellite locations.
Orthopedic Associates in Houston, Texas (contract) 6/02-01/03
Transcribed dictation for seven orthopedic surgeons, which included
clinic notes as well as all correspondence to referring physicians and hospitals.
Prompt turnaround of clinic notes initiated administrator to assign more physicians,
thus cutting costs for the clinic on outsourcing expenses.
Lanier Transcription in Houston, Texas (contract) 06/00-7/01
Transcribed reports for several hospitals including Baytown, Poly Ryan,
and Bayou City Hospital. Transcribed reports, which included H&P,
discharge summaries, clinical notes, and radiology reports. Consistently met
short deadlines on completing transcribed reports due to their critical nature.
Claims Processor, Auditor, and Customer Service Rep
Health Help, Inc. in Houston, TX 05/98-03/00
Audited claims for the claims processing department. Processed claims for radiologist throughout Florida as well as in Chicago and & Houston. This included entering claims into the computer, posting payments, sending out explanations of benefits to clients and following up on all unpaid claims and troubleshooting claims paid incorrectly. My skills of understanding insurance contracts were crucial for successful collection and reimbursement for clients.
