Managed at separate times several small financial enterprises - a credit union, a merchant bank, and a building society (a mortgage financing small firm organization). Also was for nearly 10 years the sole accountant for a company which operated up to three outpatient health clinics in Maryland. More than 10 years accounting experience ranging from journal entries through to general ledger and end of year financial statements and tax returns. Experience also include doing in house payroll for up to 75 persons and filing payroll taxes and reports for W-2s and 1099s and bank and general ledger accounts reconciliations . a) Researched in-house information for grants, reconciled research data and prepared report draft inputs for final reports by executive director.
b)Designed and implemented excel interactive spreadsheet tables to facilitate data for grants expenditure reports.
c)Performed accounts payable research and reconciliations and prepared payments to vendors.
2) Eminence LLC, Columbia, MD ( a government contractor)
Produced and managed small in-house payroll, Performed general accounts payable functions, Set up and maintained Excel spreadsheets to produce monthly schedule of employees health insurance premiums due, advanced by company and repaid by employees. Filed payroll taxes, performed bank as well as other accounts reconciliation. Posted end of year journal entries. Generated audit schedules. which resulted in a return of premiums overpaid. Prepared various financial statements for in-house as well as external users. Also produced weekly cash management reports.

Managed Accounts Payable. Improved system of fund receipts and expenditure reporting from overseas project sites, Reconciled various segments of non-profit accounts.. Prepared audit schedules and got audits successfully completed. Journalized ADP payroll data to QuickBooks accounting records. Performed bank and ledger accounts reconciliations. Produced financial statements in QuickBooks. Assisted in filing returns for non-profit re-registration with various state agencies and Organized and updated filing system. Before leaving was recognized for my contribution to the company by the management and staff.
Cignet Health, Temple Hills, MD November 2001 – March 2010
Processed and entered all journal entries; performed general ledger postings and accounts reconciliations; responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable; Reviewed and reconciled cash receipts with customer payment records; Prepared and made bank deposits.
From 2004 a when our external CPA left assumed full responsibility for all accounting work except for medical billing. Produced all required financial statements using QuickBooks. Filed reports with appropriate government agencies including: W-2s, 1099s, 941s and 940s and 1120s. Introduced electronic filing and payment of payroll taxes; processed bi-weekly payroll in-house for up to 75 persons. Managed administration and credit processing and collections. Monitored the activities of two rural branches. Improved methods of credit processing and reporting thereby ensuring better selection of viable loan projects. Through loan collection efforts and business strategies was able to reduce arrears portfolio by some sixty percent while maintaining amicable customer relationship. Assisted in business promotions and development which brought in new customers. Represented the company at trade conferences and at various meetings with Government agencies. Was transferred to manage the United Guarded Building Society, a new and smaller company in the group.
