I am looking to supplement my income on a part time basis now in preparation for working full time as a freelance worker upon retirement from my day job.
I have an uncanny ability to understand the big picture of any writing project, while at the same time making sure it succeeds because of my extreme attention to detail. This dual skill set distinguishes me from many of my peers. If your project needs an experienced writer/proof reader to ensure overall success, I’m you’re gal!
If you know of a church, business or individual who needs the assistance of a professional, published writer....spread the word!
My experience as a professional writer/proof reader is in part tied to my current job as an engineering technical writer/document quality assurance specialist for The Boeing Company, working under contract to NASA on the International Space Station Program.
I've been at Boeing for almost 17 years now, and have supported numerous project teams, including three years on the Communications team and three years as an Associate Writer / Proof-reader for the Boeing Technical Journal (BTJ), an in-house technical publication).
In my capacity at Boeing, I have proof-read dozens of technical documents on a wide number of topics to ensure that all documents strictly adhere to both Boeing and NASA editing guidelines. Less than five of the Boeing/NASA documents I have proof read over the years were ever returned indicating additional work was needed in order for them to be published in online document repositories.
I do not sign my name to any document unless I am satisfied I have done a thorough DQA review. Many of the senior engineers I work with are surprised by my attention to detail and "good catches" that they initially missed.
